Some of it is, some of it isn't......

I would contend that most of it is, and that the wiki definition pretty much hit it head on,
although while most pop music is uninspired, contrived b.s., some of it happens to be creative, catchy, and fun, and can't really help the fact that it falls into the category of pop music.
