Do you agree with Reagan using "born in the U.S.A?" No ones making money on it, and Reagan was a shoe it anyway, but it comes down more to what you want something you've created to go toward.
Not to mention intellectual property has many real world functions that without, you can see the results of in China where everythings pirated and sold wholesale for the lowest price possible.
Outsmarting and outthinking someone else allows the little guy to level the playing field against monoliths with much more money.

So now we don't believe in freedom of the press, speech, etc. just because we don't agree with something. What the heck is that? It seems that people are willing to sacrifice freedoms for some imaginative utopia. Not to mention that when this happens the society is screwed up (China, USSR, etc.)
Now about the intellectual property, China is not a good comparison here because of the freedom they are given by the government. Not to mention that the market isn't truly "free."
