true speak, throw some Sex Pistols in there too. they're like a Beatles tribute act alot of the time aswell, but with more power chords. I'd still say they are an honest and prolific institution, though I haven't listened to them for aeons, and why bother?.
'the importance of being idle' at least had that tribute to the 'dead end street' promo ...
Best album imo is Morning Glory, simply for the memories attached to the songs on it, though I gag at Wonderwall', every time.
Worst album - Be Here Now. To quote N.G 'there's no bass, all the lyrics are ****, and for every minute Liam isn't singing there's a guitar solo'
