Although jokingly (somewhat), Mclaren has been called the inventor of the first boy band, because he tossed some strangers together, they didn't write some of their own lyrics, and even managed to give them stage names. He ran a lot of the operations, and besides bringing in a member whom they werent even familar with, he was mainly brought in due to his apperance and reputation, rather than musical aspects and not being able to play an instrument. I'm not sure if it's true, but I've even heard rumors where at times, there was a bassist behind the scenes who played during a couple of shows while sid just attempted to while being unplugged or his amp being on (instrument-syncing, just like lip syncing?)


Boy band? I think so. Or almost, to say the least.
