And what point is that?
The point: If the #1 selling metal album is from fictional, animated characters from Cartoon Network - and they actually have so-called metal fans calling their songs "great" (that's where you came in) - then that leads me to believe that something is seriously WRONG with the genre.

To further illustrate the point lets look at history, shall we?

Hottest metal albums by year:

Ace of Spades - Motorhead
Diary of a Madman - Ozzy Osbourne
Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Holy Diver - Dio
Ride the Lightning - Metallica
Bonded By Blood - Exodus
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Among The Living - Anthrax
...And Justice For All - Metallica
Beneath The Remains - Sepultura
Seasons in the Abyss - Slayer
self-titled - Metallica
Vulgar Display of Power - Pantera
Undertow - Tool
Far Beyond Driven - Pantera
Astro-Creep: 2000 - White Zombie
Aenima - Tool
The More Things Change... - Machine Head
Follow The Leader - Korn
The Gathering - Testament
Clayman - In Flames
Iowa - Slipknot
The Art of Balance - Shadows Fall
The Impossibility Of Reason - Chimaira
Leviathan - Mastodon

(Dimebag Darrell dies Dec. 8, 2004)

Ghost Reveries - Opeth
Inhuman Rampage - Dragonforce
The Dethalbum - Dethklok

... and, yes, I know people will bitch about Korn/Slipknot/Tool not being "real metal". Spare me.
