I so agree with you. I find popular music so shallow. That's why the best music is underground .

I do believe there are a few exceptions. I really like Coldplay, U2, and Muse. Kanye West and DMX are ok for the rap side. I have yet to hear popular Techno, Electronica, Dance, or synthetic music in general that I like. Got to go underground for that. I just hate DJ Kammy. Being someone who makes Synthetic music, DJ Kammy is so mediocre, and the beats are very simple. Any one with some virtual studio knowledge can make it really.

As for older music. I really like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, some Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, all I can think of right now.
