Some of the best songs have no lyrics, so bad lyrics should not put you off the music, just make you note the guys that are playing the instruments, and perhaps keep tabs on them, just my thoughts

That's true, Mozart doesn't have lyrics, but is amazing and influential, guitar solos (I.E. Freebird) don't have solos, granted they start with lyrics, but still. Ska bands are great, with no lyrics sometimes.
