Better to read the book. Its Fantastic. John irving Is definitely in my top 5 list for authors. His stories don't Make the greatest movies though, only because the 2 hour timeframe of a movie isn't enough to do most of his novels much justice. Still, Hollywood is pretty persistent in trying to adapt them. The movie adaptation of A Widow for One Year came out recently (Haven't seen it). I saw World According to Garp when I was a little kid, I read the book for the first time last year so I don't know if the movie is on par with the book. Cider House Rules (His best Novel IMO) was a great disappointment on film.
