5 hour bus ride (kind of air conditioned) that i had to wake up at 5am for since i couldnt be assed to pack last night. its nice to leave the city (phnom penh) but i miss my crew from there already. ah well, i'll head to pursat (little village) to visit one of the guys, and i'm gonna meet up with another of the guys once i get to vietnam. the last few weeks in phnom penh were both really interesting and rediculously boring. really interesting because i had to spend a night in the hospital, then go back 2 times after that for more blood tests to check up on my recovery. yeah i managed to come down with dengue fever. its really not bad, just a flu type illness that makes you feel like **** for a week or so, and somewhat like **** for a week after that (and theres a bit of a risk of hemmoraghing to death, but VERY small). i didn't have any hemmoraghes, but i did get a little bit of liver damage from the illness, which was not helped by going on a drinking binge only a week and a half after i got it. my poor liver; first dengue fever, then two nights of heavy drinking, the second of which involved an entire bottle of whiskey to myself (and then some, since one of the guys quit really early and i had more than my share). by the way children, dont do that, you end up having to spend the night at the bar because you're in no shape to get back to your guesthouse. luckily my buddy was nice and took care of me. oh well, the liver is a resiliant organ.
