Like some of you have noted, the vocals can be gruffy, but the death metal growl is par for the course for this type of exteme metal. On cuts like "Now I Lay Thee Down" which alternates between straight singing and screaming, vocalist Flynn comes across endearing especially late in the song, when his voice cracks on the chorus, and creates a cool as sh$t industrial effect. Most singer would have used a different take, but it works for the song.
