Hammer Vs. Heart

Every mistake and glory went un-noticed
I say I love you only to fall on deaf ears
You pay more attention to the whispers in the wind
The music of the trees
I've accomplished so much
Knowing that it means nothing to you
Is like takeing a hammer
And smashing it like it was made of glass
I'll keep dreaming
For you to say the words you've ignored
I wish I could be the son you always wanted
The son you never had
I never wanted to be the Excess skin in the family
I guess we'll make believe everythings alright
To run from the truth
And hide from our feelings
When I stare into your eyes
I don't see the man I saw 10 years ago
I see the man that is disgusted and disappointed
With every move I make
These thoughts spin in my thoughts
Rewinding in my dreams
All I can be is me
Even if it isn't what you want me to be.
