woke up at 6am this morning with a bad cold and an eye infection, which sounds like a pretty sh*tty start to the day right? F*CK NO!!!! BEST day since i've been home BY FAR. I popped a few dayquils, put my contact just in my left eye, and headed out the door, armed with a case of redbull, and my ski gear to meet my buddy and head up to Lake Louise. First run of the day, WICKED powder, even though it's tracked out, my new skis just power through everything, i COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with these skis. Even though it was a saturday, the hill was empty, the longest lift line we had was maybe a minute, two minutes tops. It was insane. It was -20 before the windchill for most of the day, but i was having so much fun i didnt even notice the cold till I got in for lunch and noticed the horrible pain in my toes when they started to thaw out. Overall, I could not have asked for a better first day of the season, SOOOOO stoked to go up thursday, and saturday will be epic. opening day at fernie, my favorite mountain in the world. WOOT WOOT!!!!
