Funny you mention that, the Western philosophers thought that all higher knowledge and philosophers were derived from a person with an overactive sex drive. Started with Plato, and later carried on by Marcuse, they felt that when a supressed sex drive came up through the surface in other ways, it was with blinding intelligence or amazing art.
