I was lucky. I came home from a night out (the pc had been left on) and I tried to log on to the net and the thing took ages...I tried to restart the pc and it wouldn't respond...out of sheer impatience and too much alcohol, I turned it off at the mains and fucked it up big time.
Fortunately my music files were salvaged.
I lost all my applications though.
