Well, as all of Bono's charity donations are 'anonymous', yet Bono always puts his face in front of all these campaigns, I tend to assume that he's not putting as much in as he'd like people to think.

And I don't think he has any long-term strategy, in that he announces that HIV medication being cheaply available in Africa is something that is extremely important to him - yet I've never heard of Bono or U2 providing research grants into HIV medication, or filing patents for HIV medication, or buying facilities to product HIV medication. And if they don't produce the medication themselves, what rights do they have to affect the price at which the medication is sold? U2 have considerable financial muscle which they could put behind campaigns in smart ways which I think could really change things. But I think they prefer just to make noise and get attention for performing charitable acts.

Because Bono makes these decisions that take a lot of people's time and money and clearly doesn't seem to know half of what he's talking about, I think he's a complete ****.

And I don't like the way he sings, or his lyrics. The EDGE is great, though.
