just cuz u can pull of crzy riffs on guitar dont mean u can come up wit a good groove on the bass
No, Chords are not the easiest thing on the guitar, power chords being the exception to the rule, but some chords are so complicated that I can hardly play them without breaking a finger, like the F#7 chord... Playing chords while fingerpicking is especially hard.

I have fat hands and boney fingers, thus a bass is actually much easier for me to play (bigger frets, only 4 strings, etc)... And not having to worry about chords takes a load off as well.

Granted coming up with a good groove on bass is damn hard, especially when employing the slap and pop technique.
