He isnt one of those mindless shreders as you would call it, so let's leave it at that, he is a brillant guitar player, His music isnt completely acessible, even if you dont like it you can still appreciate it. Vai's music really as more jazz and progressive rock influence rather than neo classical influence like almost all shreders do, the word Shred itself is a lame limitation of Vai's musical talent, listen to Passion and Warfare, there's barely any actual shreding on it at all.
