I'll give you a chemistry based clue here then. Living organisms take food to allow them to create energy with which to perform their vital functions. This energy is produced through a process in which an organic compound (the food) reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide, water and a few other waste products. In this case, the food is something that is ingested to allow this same energy production to occur.
I never said that it eats anything though.
