Urban: Having your role in a band being completely demolished isn't exactly playing
well... Solos aren't vital for a bass player, that is very true, but you say it's automatically a bad thing if a bass player chooses to put their ability to good use instead of just playing bitch to the rest of the band and completely wasting their talent, which couldn't be further from the truth.
As for Sid Vicious, i still can't take such a comment very seriously, as far as i'm concerned, he's the worst "bass player" in music history, not just because he couldn't play a half decent line if his life depended on it, but because he has set the role of the bassist back a million years, he has made a freaking joke out of the entire profession, and the fact that he's so popular is proof that some people just prefer silly stage antics over actual talent.... Bass players are not just "the other guy" and no matter what you say their role in the music is quite important.
