I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be secret or whatever, but Morrissey is my submission. It's not one of his best, but I like it still and felt it fit the theme.
It's about people who are too self-centered to care about the suffering of others.
The futility is in trying to make them care or at least consider others, something they seem unwilling to even when faced with it.
