I'm generally not a fan of live albums (though there are exceptions) because it seems like a) the studio tracks are better recordings in general and b) wouldn't it a better experience to see them live in the flesh? I think the same thing goes for online concerts. I mean, it's okay if that's the only way you can see the artist but, as others have pointed out, you don't get the same energy. Plus, it's something you can do with friends (I'd never go to a concert by myself).
I agree with Mucha too about the energy you can get from a small club.
