I think AOC can do for the Democrats what Trump did for Republicans (a lot of grey area there, I get it - but specifically I mean she could lead the party in a new, more progressive direction and she's strong willed enough to not make unnecessary concessions to appease the party writ large).
A lot of these arguments being made against AOC could've been made against Trump before he was elected. Despite some of the arguments having truth to them, Trump got elected anyway.
Not that I'm saying it would be a good thing overall, but if Trump got re-elected, it might be the best thing to happen for the future of the Democratic party.
I think AOC has the star power, influence, and media know-how to outmaneuver most of her opponents. And, unlike Trump, she actually has experience in government too. Maybe she won't win her first bid for president - maybe she'll soften some of her positions - but she'll eventually be in the White House. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my hat.
P.S. Imagine how effective AOC would be at trolling the right on Twitter.

With boomers and many on the right, sure. I think Millennials and Gen-Z are soon to be the biggest voting bloc in the US though (most left-leaning). And I don't think sexism is as big of a hang-up for them - the only problem is how do you get them out to vote? Bernie couldn't solve that problem.
