There are many things wrong with American society, raising kids to grow up dreaming of joining the army, using guns and risking their lives (for whatever reason) is definitely one of them. I sure as hell wouldn't do it, regardless of the benefits.
But anyways, words are meaningless now, there is only the tragedy and the pain and the loss. And I hope you and your family will find the strength to get through it all.
