One day we were absolutely swamped at work and like two people down and it's just a complete **** show for hours and my manager was stressed out and frazzled. So she asks me in a tone of numb panic to make her a Whopper.
"Abra kadabra, you're a Whopper."
She squeezed her eyes shut and kind of turned her head away with an emotion I can't quite put into words and I swear I saw a year of her life leave her body. I'm sure firing me must have occured to her at least for a second.
