Pablo Honey motivated the band members to progress musically from that point, resulting in
The Bends (which also has a little Nirvana infleunce) and then they progressed and took in many more influences from that point... Not to mention Pablo Honey propelled the group to mainstream success, so yes, Nirvanas influence
does count.
