Consider Foucault's boomerang. I'm no expert on French police but it sounds like they've been influenced by colonial practices designed to surpress dissent in their in their colonies like just about every other colonial power, so their own country essentially becomes an occupied colony to suppress dissent at home. So no ****ing wonder if minority groups respond poorly to police and governmental policies that probably treat them even more like uppity natives than the traditional French natives.
