This is how you drive the competition out of business. There is nothing they can do about it once the technology is there on offer on the market. The way they will fight back is to prevent any such effort on behalf of the govt to do this research. And they will fight hard. That's why the only path forward is to mount enough political pressure to make it happen anyway. That's the hard part. That's why I said there's nothing easy or even likely about it. I don't see it happening based on the current trajectories. I've just yet to hear of a better approach, as I said.
