Could be near Boulder pretty soon in fact. Thanks for the link, I'll have to see if the Asian market around the corner from me has smoked tofu - seems likely to be what makes the difference. I always get the plain super firm from whatever grocery store. I have tried the ones with a teriyaki marinade but it never came out right. The smoked + spiced might be a game changer.
