And while you have a lot of users the vast majority of them do not post with any amount of personality. I remember a few years ago when the membership was dying but we still had a bunch of old guard members they'd sometimes wax on about how the site used to be better but then I go into old threads from any given time before like a decade ago and they're all filled with one sentence responses from boring ****s who never had more than a hundred posts.
I think there was a short golden period in the late 00s/early 10s where the userbase had already peaked and was waning but was in that sweet spot where much of the tourists had left and the mid-size community of dedicated members hadn't bled out like it had by the mid/late 10s. And even then people were saying the site was dying and wasn't what it was.
