You probably do too, but I doubt it. There are way too many signs pointing to nothing positive or proactive coming out of this. Incarceration rates are going to stay high. There’s already a movement toward house arrest ankle bracelet with forced enslavement but the county lockups are still staying and will remain overcrowded, violent, insanity inducing petri dishes. I know you’re talking about accelerating our approaches to vaccines and so forth but even the low hanging fruit of universal nutrition, housing, and health care - the large scale equivalent to washing our hands - isn’t even remotely on the table. Our policies of environmental devastation are still running full force which also gives a free pass to the proliferation of all kinds of human hostile pathogens and their vectors. As flooding and storms continue to amplify so do the unsanitary conditions that come with them. And war... we’re still at it. If there was ever a time for “swords into plowshares” it’s right now but it’s not even being discussed.
