Luckily, 45 years ago there was less Arab/West hostility than today. Morocco was pretty safe, and so different from Europe. We had some probs but never physical violence. If anything, on the contrary; we were shown hospitality so generous that we were suspicious. I remember me and my pal sitting in the back of the car of some guy we'd only just met, as he'd insisted we see his house. We were whispering, "Why are we doing this? We have no idea where we are. He could kill us!" In fact, we spent a very polite and civilised evening with him and his girlfriend.
