You're overthinking it. Subverting basic propriety is generally funny to some degree (which is why adults burping and farting is generally funnier than kids doing it unless of course the child's parents are present to be embarrassed). You don't have to reinvent the wheel just to get laughs in the same way you don't have to discard centuries old folk songs just cause you didn't write them.
