The Ink Spots started way before Rock and Roll, and Doo Wop. At that point in their career they were a "Vocal Jazz" group. The song was written in 1937. The music was composed by George Gershwin and the lyrics by Ira Gershwin. You are absolutely free to consider George and Ira Gershwin Doo Wop, do whatever you want, but nah, don't.

Another thing. OK true this music is old, the song came out in '49 but it's
not "old-time music." "Old-Time" with its origin in North American Folk music and Appalachian Folk music is something entirely different from Jump. (I say Folk I'm not talking about the commercialize American Folk Revival music of the 50s and 60s.) I don't know if this is best example to give, but Flat & Scruggs played Old-Time music and considered themselves proponents of Old Time music.

Doo Wop. I don't know go about identifying a song written in the 30s as "Doo Wop" and then when you hear an
actual "Doo Wop" song you're at a lost for works and do not know what it is. You're killin me Smalls.

I'm glad you like "Come On" and "Roadrunner" I was hoping the same with the others. The lyrics to "Slap That Bass" and "Beans and Cornbread" are fun. I thought you would pick up on that fun and like them as well. Maybe have a laugh and enjoyed them. However I was severely wrong on that account.
