I play a Kemper digital amp. It allows you to 'profile' real amps and then store them as digital rigs. They have an online exchange where ANYONE can upload rigs they've made. Screenshot:
There's currently over 13,770 files uploaded. Vast majority of them suck ass simply because the person didn't have the right tools and/or didn't do the profile correctly.
I go fishing in there now and then for diamonds in the rough. Once found I upload it into my unit. For free.
This is how it should be. Pay the $$$ for the hardware/software system you have at home but let the electronic user files be free and shareable.
