No, because you're jumping to the conclusion that being Catholic means you actively support the institution. I gave an example of a Catholic that actively chose not to support the institution. Going to church doesn't mean you support the institution, preaching or practicing your faith doesn't mean you support it. I'm sure there are plenty of Catholics that remain faithful yet still actively avoid supporting that institution. You're just assuming they don't exist. So being catholic is not an action that perpetuates atrocities, it's just assumed.
Knowing that difference doesn't change the fact that you don't care enough about either
sect to find their differences significant in any kind of way.
