They've made 3 albums and I think 2 of them are downright great. They add something that's generally really missing in thrash and death metal - so that I'm suddenly able to really give a **** in the long term. I've been into the band for years. I even have a greeting on a post-it note from the singer/lead guitarist since they were manually packaging and shipping orders for their second album. Their third album was less interesting to me since it was more about constant speed.

TBH Nile's death metal has always been not much more than serviceable and combining it with Egypt-y sounding stuff is definitely a gimmick even if it was an entertaining one, so if the band has decided to go techy melodic death metal or whatever that was then I'm not gonna be disappointed at a sound change. I like Nile, but don't love them. Their best albums have a lot of guitar playing and drumming that keeps me entertained, but the vocals are largely dispensable.
