Have you had any lingering long-term effects from the attack?

Yeah. I think people underestimate the trauma of being assaulted for regular people who aren’t thugs or professional fighters and ****. That event was one in a series of maybe five that when put altogether hurt me socially, professionally, financially, psychologically, and physically. One thing was that I worked hard on getting a teaching degree on top of my history degree. I graduated
summa *** laude. I also passed every test first try and every subject I taught I made sure I knew the subject matter backward and forward. But year after year my classes were used as a dumping ground for the ****tiest of the ****ty students. It wasn’t a random split. Other teachers were always up in the front office complaining about their student rosters but I just kept plugging away at it until I snapped, burnt out, my spirit was finally broken, I had a mental breakdown- that’s a lot of personal **** but there’s a lot more I don’t wanna share on here but if it were cards it was a long stretch of really bad hands. A lot of it was my own fault but some of it wasn’t. I’ve seen many people endure much worse much better but I landed where I fell and I’m trying to pick myself up the best I can. I respect people who are stronger than me but I resent people who got better hands and think that makes them better than me.
I know another teacher who was beaten up much worse while trying to monitor the bus line. Her arm was broken and she got dragged around on the concrete by her hair, knocked out, bruised up face. In most countries that **** makes the news. I’m sure that was a life changing event for her. Anyway, I’m off to work. Might get a car in February. Vroom.
