If I tell you that whenever I hear it I feel personally insulted, then how can anyone using it not be considered prejudiced if they continue to use it, knowing full well the effect it has on gay people? That means they don't value gay people enough to refrain from its use. I really don't think this is very complicated to understand at all...

ggot, but language is constantly evolving. The only reason these words are socially taboo is because they are historically offensive.
The logic youre using here is no different than the people who get mad when people use "literally" hyperbolically.
