I haven't applied for a job and/or filled out a resume in over 32 years. Been at my current place since 1997 and was at the previous place since 1986.
Fish out of water man. I'm walking cold into retail and food places to see if they have work and the looks I'm getting from the MUCH younger managers are priceless.
I'm so over-qualified for the minimum wage positions I'm looking at it's ridiculous. I don't think anyone is going to take me seriously at all.

In my second interview I was told I was the most overqualified candidate they ever hired for my position. I had to be very adamant that I didn’t care and that I wanted to work and wanted the job. And there’s still a learning curve. If an 18 year old kid can do it and you can’t you gotta listen up and learn. I don’t think you should volunteer. I think you should force your way back into the trenches.
