Melodic metal isn't extreme metal and it isn't the middle ground of much of thrash. Power metal, trad metal, symphonic metal, melodic death metal, and the lighter side of thrash are melodic metal. You know exactly what it is so stop being an elitist ***got pretending to not even know how to interact with the plebs.
