For some reason LiL goes from a general question about travel to a poll about American airline companies, as if travel=flying around and from America.

Picking up on Chiomara's comment, yes, that method of travel sounds like fun, although it may not be so in reality. (Warning: if you read the following, you can't un-read it afterwards):-

The romance of a life at sea was irreparably tarnished for me when I read an autobiog of a man who was in the merchant navy in more or less 1920. He said that his ship was infested with cockroaches - that when he opened his cabin door, there would be a mass of them scurrying out of sight. In the mornings he'd wake up with sore toes: during the night, the cockroaches came back and fed on his toenails.


One method of travel that sounds romantic on account of it turning up so often in songs and movies is by Greyhound bus, or for headin' south, a Trailways bus.
