You do realize the game is not an adaptation of the books, right ? That the Witcher books, translated to dozens of languages and sold in millions of copies, were mere inspiration for the game devs, who wrote their own story using the characters and world created to tell a slightly different story ?
It's a bit like ****ting on George Lucas because "Pod Racer" had a mediocre story
There's plenty of reasons to **** on Lucas without making a point as ridiculous as this one.
Also I have to say, there are few games that are as well written as the Witcher, especially the 3rd part - but you'd have to actually play them to understand. I have yet to see a game that would make the player as emotional as W3, at certain points in the story.
