The best way to respond to that line of thinking goes back to what Louie once said. Someone approached Satchmo about blowing some snazzy Jazz riff from the roaring 20s on his trumpet. (This incident happened either in the forgettable 40s or nifty 50s) Armstrong retorted in his hallmark rough sounding voice:"

Abacab was good then, and it's good now.
