Octogenarian Steve Reich, one of America’s big four minimalist composers, has released a new album. Upon listening to it I was really hoping to go be the first voice on the internet noting the Aaron Copland influence but Quietus beat me to it

Well, Quietus understands this release much bettter than Pitchfork for whatever that’s worth. Clearly, when late in life, Reich nods to his cultural heritage we’re dealing with an important piece of music. Reich works it easily through his signature hypnotic style. Not radical and not meant to be.
