na it wasn't the best time for hip hop. hip hop is currently growing and improving with every year. sure, trap music is boring and lethargic, but there is so much out there to be found that features innovative production and poetic lyricism all while bringing the genre to new heights.
i think more than any other genre out there hip-hop has benefited from the age of the internet
