Got to admit, when I saw the name of this band I worried they were some corporate entity sponsored by a motor vehicle manufacturer (
Tedeschi Trucks get you where you want to go!) but it turns out that it's just the surnames of both the founders, however odd Trucks may seem a surname. Oh, I see he was in the Allman Brothers Band. Interesting. And they're husband and wife. Ah, live albums! While I do like them, they can be hell to review, as you end up with, as we found with Jerry Garcia's band, very long versions of songs, and I already see three ten-minute tracks, an eleven and one clocking in at over fourteen. Ah well.
It's really hard not to like this. It's just basically one big jam. I mean, Clapton's “Keep on Growing”, Cohen's “Bird on a Wire”, Harrison's “Within You, Without You”, how can you go wrong? Throw in some Miles Davis, some Santana, and a whole heap of their own material, some serious guitar playing, and well you'd have to have a heart of stone not to be into this.
