But I do think holidays like Veterans Day and Memorial Day seem to glorify war. I thought Armistice Day (as it was originally called and still is in Europe I think) was supposed to be a day to celebrate peace.

I'm all for supporting the troops but I think the best way to support them is to stop putting them in ridiculous wars halfway around the world to begin with. What does bombing sites in Syria have to do with keeping Americans safe?
