We watched the Mummy last night, just for ****s. This is one of those "it's so bad it's good" films. It's campy and it's cheesy, but it's also self-aware enough to get away with it. I guess Guardians of the Galaxy counts too). Hollywood lost its sense of humour and has produces dozens and dozens of flops as a result.

They also forgot how to make horrendously awful and fun disaster action movies. When was the last time any of them reached the heights of
Independence Day and
Armageddon? And that's a hell of coincidence, as I just watched
