It does. Admitted to hospital - here anyway - means they get you a bed and keep you in. The amount of times we've been down in A&E for hours to finally hear "You've been admitted: you're going up to the ward." Different world. Yeah, everyone's been to hospital probably, but the question refers to any time you have had to stay there overnight or longer.
