Barney and Robin were both selfish and looked out for themselves. Which meant they fit one another in a relationship because they were both strong and independent personalities. They were similar and they understood one another. Also the reason for their relationship crumbling was ****ing stupid.

The first season of Heroes was some seriously great TV, but it all went to hell after that regenerative blood thing. When a series starts to break the rules of its own universe, that's when you lose the audience. I watched the whole second season uneasily, but tried to keep an open mind, then I quit immediately in S03 after they introduced Ali Larter's 213th character.
